ABSTRACT

Ukrain, a semi-synthetic thiophosphoric acid compound of alkaloids isolated from Chelidonium Majus L., causes a regression of tumors and metastases in many oncological patients through stimulation of the immune system, Parenterally administered, Ukrain accumulates within minutes in malignant tissue, is easily observed in surface tumors and facilitates surgical operations through its auto-fluorescence under UV light. Through this affinity to malignant tissue, besides marking obvious lesions, Ukrain also marks micro-metastases, rendering them macroscopically visible so enabling the demarcation of normal and malignant tissue. In the majority of the 206 oncological cases so far fully documented the stimulation of the immune system has been defined through an increase in T-helper cells, increased NK-cell activity, increased T-rosette formation and a decrease in T-suppressor cells. Total remissions of so far 10 years have been achieved with breast carcinomas, malignant melanomas and thyroid carcinomas.
